Charlecote Mill

Right in our own neighbourhood, sits Charlecote Mill, a beautifully restored 18th-century watermill that’s still in full working order - making stoneground flour just as it has been since 1752. This is not a museum piece - you can see the waterwheels turning, stones grinding, and real flour being produced. That makes Charlecote Mill a true working piece of local heritage and one of the few of its kind left in the country.

You might catch a visit on one of its open days, or arrange a private tour if you’d like to dive deeper into its story.

Whether you’re planning to pick up some freshly milled flour or simply want to discover a living slice of our local past, Charlecote Mill is a true local gem. Thanks to its popularity and high demand, flour can sometimes sell out quickly, so it’s always a good idea to call ahead or check availability before visiting. We’re proud to have such a special place right on our doorstep!

Shakespeare Morris

Just a short journey from our village, Shakespeare Morris is a mixed (men and women) morris dancing troupe based in Stratford-upon-Avon. They meet every Monday evening, 8pm to 10pm, at the Rosebird Centre, right next to Waitrose.

During the summer months, they bring vibrancy and heritage to our streets through public dance performances. In the winter, they keep local tradition alive with charming Mummers’ plays.

Keen to give it a go? Shakespeare Morris also run regular taster evenings, offering the perfect chance to try morris dancing in a fun, friendly setting.

They celebrated their 65th anniversary last year with a “Day of Dance” in Stratford-upon-Avon, featuring mass dancing, scenic tours, and a community feast raising funds for the Shakespeare Hospice.

Be sure to keep an eye on their Facebook page to see where they’ll be dancing next and to stay up to date with their events.

Whether you're a folk dance fan, looking for something new to try, or simply curious about local culture, Shakespeare Morris is a lovely example of tradition in action - and right here on our doorstep.
